Dilgo Khyentse YANGSI Rinpoche live online...

Many many students of Tibetan Buddhism in particular will have heard of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. I have personally been aware of his vast presence and influence on the Dharma since I first climbed up the stairs to the top floor of 12 Wicklow Street, to find the Rigpa meditation centre there.
Once you recover from the trek, the first thing you notice is that you are in a completely new realm...
Of course, by this I mean it was my first ever time in a Buddhist centre and absolutely everything was new to me.

But the one thing that profoundly strikes you when you see a Rigpa Buddhist shrine for the first time is that there are photographs of elderly, kind faces staring out at you ... into your very heart-essence... as if to say 'don't be afraid, all this is just a reflection of your own Buddha Nature... breathe... sit... open...'

These awakened beings in the photos are the masters of Sogyal Rinpoche, whose centre Rigpa is. You notice three in particular: Jamyang Khyentse Choki Lodro, Dudjom Rinpoche and Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. The third of these was a highly realised Buddhist master from Tibet who taught anybody and everybody who went to him including the Dalai Lama and unknown, ordinary people like you and me.
I have written about him here before but, as Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche was at one time the principle master of two of my own teachers [Sogyal Rinpoche and Ringu Tulku Rinpoche], I wish to draw your attention to an upcoming, free, live event online.

Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche's Yangsi [reincarnation] is just now beginning to come out of the intensive training period of this particular lifetime and is starting to travel about and teach the Buddha-dharma again.

On Sunday July 18 2010, the intriguing Yangsi Rinpoche will visit Lerab Ling, Rigpa's main temple. Situated in the mountains of southern France, this magnificent temple will provide the perfect environment for this young Rinpoche to give a public talk.

This wonderful event will be broadcast live on the internet at 3pm French time. The video streaming is free and is available to anyone who wishes to join the celebrations.
